About This Surah
Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave) is a Meccan surah of 110 verses. It contains four famous stories — the People of the Cave, the man with two gardens, Moses and Al-Khidr, and Dhul-Qarnayn — each illustrating a different trial that humanity faces.

Virtues & Significance
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him from one Friday to the next." (Al-Hakim, Bayhaqi). Memorizing the first or last 10 verses protects against the Dajjal (Antichrist). It is the most widely recited surah on Fridays across the Muslim world.
Context of Revelation
Revealed in Mecca in response to questions posed by the Quraysh (prompted by the Jews of Madinah) about the "People of the Cave," the soul (ruh), and Dhul-Qarnayn. This makes it one of the most historically documented surahs in terms of its reason for revelation.
